Watch Straps: How to use the Quick Release

The Cascadia Field Watch is engineered to be a grab-and-go companion and a versatile part of your everyday kit. Our 2-piece nylon quick-release straps are a big part of the versatility equation.

We designed our flagship timepiece without spring bars so swapping straps could be done in seconds with our Cascade Nylon Strap.

We love color though sometimes a multicolored striped strap isn’t the vibe we’re after. Enter the 2-piece quick-release strap. Traditional watches with built-in spring bars can make swapping straps cumbersome. To swap a spring bar strap you need a spring bar tool to slide the bar and pry the strap off the watch. C’mon, that’s never going to happen when we’re running out the door in the morning to hit the office or, better yet, the trails. 2-piece quick-release straps are perfect for us because the spring bar is built into each strap piece and can be attached or removed in the same time it takes to slam an espresso.

The quick release is activated by a small lever on each strap piece.

To remove a quick-release strap follow these easy steps:

  • Turn the watch over and open the lever by sliding it towards the middle of the spring bar.
  • Once the lever is open, lift the lever end of the spring bar away from the lugs.
  • Now slide the other side of the spring bar off the watch lugs.
  • Repeat on the other side.

Installing a new strap is just as simple:

  • Turn the watch over and slide the end of the spring bar opposite the lever into the lug.
  • Pull the lever and align the lever side of the spring bar over the hole in the watch lug.
  • Release the lever and hear the click. If it doesn’t click, give the lever end a quick jiggle to align with the lug hole to hear it click into place.

Our Cascade 2-piece watch straps allow your timepiece to be a utility player in your lineup. Currently, we offer nylon straps in four great colors. Keep your eyes peeled for more colors and strap materials dropping soon.

See you on the trail!
